Organizational Efficiencies & Cost Savings

The client experienced a period of growth which added to increased levels of process variation across key departments within the organization. Challenges grew, primarily within supply chain and procurement, and COVID-19 disruptions hindered the organization’s success. This variation drove the need to create standardized processes across their construction division to ensure that all construction execution operations were properly supported moving forward. The future state processes were crucial to maintaining a customer-centric focus and ongoing efforts to deliver honest designs, superior workmanship, and unique space solutions.

The Poirier Group was engaged to conduct a five-week initial assessment working alongside key internal stakeholders to identify, document, and recommend processes to streamline and improve various inconsistent and unproductive tasks and practices within the Construction Unit. Key activities included:

  • Reviewing historical data to analyze productivity and performance, compared to industry benchmarks
  • Developing a deep understanding of cross-functional value streams, including current roles and responsibilities
  • Identifying and categorizing pain points into affinity themes to support solution development
  • Aligning leadership on clear future state direction, path forward and methodology to achieving set targets

Value Created

  • Generated clarity and alignment on the strategic direction of the organization, developing a 5-year strategic pathway for key organizational stakeholders to execute
  • Identified opportunities to increase organizational process maturity, focused on driving $2.1M of improved organizational capacity to sustain growth with existing resources
