Haley is a kind-hearted and positive problem solver with a passion for applying engineering and data analytics to create meaningful solutions. With hands-on experience in analytics, operations research, and structural engineering through two internships at Hatch, she has had the opportunity to tackle complex real-world challenges. Most recently, Haley developed advanced scheduling models for a fleet of over 100 trucks at the Antamina Mine in Peru, where she improved throughput and computational efficiency using mixed-integer programming, constraint programming, and Bayesian optimization.
She has also gained experience in SQL, Java, and data modeling during a recent project where she helped create a recipe recommendation website. Haley led the backend development and presented the app to the class on behalf of her eight-person team. With competence in Python, Pyomo, OR-Tool, and Excel, Haley thrives on solving complex problems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive impact. Whether building truck scheduling models or developing apps, she loves collaborating with others and bringing energy and empathy to every challenge.
In her spare time, Haley is passionate about music. She attended an arts high school for vocals, where she was involved in numerous choirs and musicals. Currently, she is a member of a jazz choir at the University of Toronto, and she loves attending musicals whenever she can.
