About

Sam is an analytics engineer with over four years of experience designing data infrastructure and analytical systems in professional baseball. His work has involved designing and maintaining ETL pipelines, implementing validation and anomaly detection routines for high-frequency tracking data, and integrating structured data with video systems to support real-time decision-making by coaches, analysts, and front office staff.

He has led teams and contributed to cross-departmental projects by developing reproducible Python workflows, maintaining centralized SQL databases, and delivering automated reporting tools. With a background in data engineering, statistical modeling (including Bayesian methods), and cloud technologies, Sam is now applying these capabilities to broader client-facing analytics and systems projects outside of sports.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Wake Forest University

Interests

Sam is an avid Boston sports fan who follows baseball and football closely and enjoys attending games whenever he can. He’s especially passionate about fantasy football and serves as commissioner for two long-running dynasty leagues.

Outside of sports, he enjoys fishing, cooking, and traveling to new cities and coastlines. He also has a deep interest in weather and forecasting, and when extreme weather is on the horizon, Sam is usually the first to have a detailed update ready for anyone who’ll listen.
