Our Management Consultants 

Utilizing your talents and experience in client-facing roles, you will deliver process improvement, business transformation, and operational strategy projects to our clients across a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, business services, private equity and more. You will be a part of a team working on individual or, at times, multiple engagements. Each client engagement will be different, but all must deliver a high degree of impact to organizational strategies, performance, and employee engagement/performance.

You will also have the opportunity to support TPG’s internal process improvement initiatives and Purpose Beyond Profit (TPG’s non-for-profit initiative that leverages our unique business and operational skill sets to support our community).

Opportunity:

  • Develop trusting relationships with clients and internally within your project team.
  • Apply results-based problem solving, mediate conflicts, and coach/lead based on a solid understanding of business process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and change management methodologies.
  • Support client engagements focused on analyzing and diagnosing the client’s current state, identifying improvement opportunities based on addressing root causes and architecting solutions, and implementation roadmaps across various industries.
  • Assess and develop project plans, manage against scope, timelines, resources, and budget allocation to ensure a return on investment is achieved successfully while exceeding client expectations.
  • Must be proficient with analyzing data (advanced user of Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Facilitate engagements with various levels of an organization aimed at creating business plans, gap analyses, RACI, process maps, labour/work analyses, and other process improvement techniques.
  • Identify opportunities with existing clients, creating and delivering proposals that accurately represent TPG’s approach.
  • Be a culture carrier supporting and growing the firm’s values and culture.

Your Qualifications:

  • To qualify for a TN1 Visa, a Canadian Passport is mandatory as our work is predominately throughout North America. Due to the requirements of a TN1 Visa, candidates with a work permit or with a permanent resident status do not qualify.
  • University Degree in Engineering (Industrial) or Business is a requirement.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, PMP (Project Management Professional), and/or a Change Management Certification is highly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience implementing operational process improvement in Retail, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Private Equity, Information Technology, and/or Grocery.
  • Proven project management/leadership skills with experience leading large continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple projects and assignments, both client-facing and internal.
  • Up to date with the latest leading-edge solutions, methodologies, tools, trends, and innovations in project management and business process improvement. Including but not limited to Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Cause and Effect Analysis, Value-Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Data Analysis, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in process improvement techniques (data analysis, object-oriented analysis, modelling techniques, project sizing and costing, and current state analysis/needs assessment, statistical process control charting, significance testing, etc.).
  • Familiar with business assessment tools (e.g., feasibility studies, business cases, cost/benefit, benchmarking, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to recognize and positively influence inter-relationships between functions, departments, and lines of business and capable of effectively managing work ‘upward’.
  • Models strong initiative, self-starter behaviour, consistently looking for ways to drive value and contribute to the team.
  • Aptitude for sound decision making/priority management when working under a deadline, in stressful, complex, and/or multi-tasking and multi-team environments.
  • Superior ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and reports that are accurate, error-free, and relevant.
